Making a mark: exhibitions that matter

Utrecht Science Park

Utrecht, the Netherlands

2025 [permanent]

Vincent Mock’s monumental Radiolaria sculpture is exhibited in the atrium of Plus Ultra Utrecht, the newest and largest building at Utrecht Science Park. Measuring 3.5 meters in diameter and developed in collaboration with the University of Fribourg, the work transforms microscopic life into an architectural-scale experience, inviting visitors to reflect on sustainability, innovation, and the hidden structures that shape our world.

Villa Arte Concept Store

Laren, the Netherlands

2024-2025

Villa Arte concept store is a premier Dutch luxury lifestyle destination, merging high-end interior design, fashion, and fine art into a total living experience. Vincent Mock’s work anchored the space with his monumental 5-meter Great Hammerhead Shark sculpture, which, crafted from approximately 4,500 stainless-steel fish hooks, served as a powerful, eye-catching centerpiece and conservation statement.

Residency and exposition

Forci Estate, Lucca, Italy

2023

During a two-month art residency, Vincent Mock continued developing his Plankton Light project and also initiated new, innovative work - a series of dioramas, combining 3D-printed, hand-painted objects with taxidermy specimens. The residency concluded with an exposition, where all new objects were presented.

Allianz x Sea Shepherd

Munich, Germany

2022-2023

This high-profile solo exhibition was held at the Allianz Headquarters in Munich in collaboration with the Sea Shepherd conservation society, underscoring the vital need for ocean protection. The immersive display featured the artist’s striking, life-sized marine sculptures, which acted as a powerful visual synergy between art and activism, confronting the audience with the critical state of endangered marine life.

AMO Expo

Sardinia, Italy

2021

6-month solo exhibition ‘AMO’ in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, Italy, in collaboration with Sea Shepherd Conservation Society & a 6-month solo exhibition of a 12-meter whale shark sculpture at Phi Beach, Sardinia, Italy. Through the medium of art, Vincent aimed to raise awareness around the importance of these species for the health of our oceans, and for the future of our planet and humanity.

AWAREHouse

Amsterdam, Netherlands

2021 [permanent]

Vincent Mock’s 12-meter whale shark sculpture is a permanent installation that quite literally floats through the architecture of the space, suspended like a calm giant passing overhead. Built from thousands of individual elements, it transforms the atrium into an underwater scene in mid-air, playful from a distance and obsessively detailed up close. It’s both a spectacle and a quiet reminder of how fragile our oceans really are.

Oceanàrio de Lisboa

Lisbon, Portugal

2019

In 2019, Vincent Mock held a six-month long solo exhibition at the Oceanário de Lisboa (Portugal), officially launched by Her Royal Highness Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands. Turning the venue into a kind of an underwater theatre, his suspended marine sculptures drifted above visitors and pulled the ocean into the room, up close and impossible to ignore.
